Once a year the Historic Albany Foundation throws a big art auction gala where artists are invited to create art centered on the architecture of Albany. The pieces are auctioned off wherein the proceeds are split fifty fifty with the foundation and the artist.  I have submitted works on three different occasions, sometimes multiple pieces.  My greatest achievement here was winning something akin to best in show with my chess board that contained on one side historic buildings no longer existing competing against their replacements.  It is also fairly evident that I am obsessed with the New York State Plaza, which is some what of a religious zone for me as well as with making any piece of Art I make also a game or a source of too much information.

“Zoe is in Africa”

“Seven for Four in Hand”

“Nipper gets fancy”

“Plaza Plush Play”

A reproduction of the Plaza created with fabric and foam intended to be played with.

“Modern Art Plaza Table”

A large table that represents each piece of Modern Art within the Empire State Plaza and their location within.  Subsequently it is the only piece I never sold because I failed to make it clear that it comes apart.  Now it hangs in my workout area.  Lucky me.

“Those We Have Lost, Those That Remain”

A large scale chess set representing fallen buildings and their replacements.

A wine rack representing the Spectrum 8 theatre complete with Albany centric films

Included 6 bottles of “local” wine, two glasses and an opener.

A large scale game of Risk

using Albany neighborhoods as territory.
